No body, in real life, can do without the monstrous routine for that we all have to provide acknowledged structure for things we do. It is important, though, that we shouldn?t orient our lives around it and when it grows out of control, as it quickly does, we have to take a break before it starts eroding all the joyful things that being human is.
It is good to think of routine as an instrument to help us do our jobs. But we have to remember it is only that. And we have to keep an eye open for chances and opportunities that may spring along the way. It is because, unlike a movie or a book, the sequence of events in real life is frequently interrupted and we have to be able to relate things to each other in order to proceed in a thoughtful manner. To do that, we need to relax and expel the useless minutiae to prepare our thinking apparatus for more important things.
