forum disabled
Forums are frustrating business. Our forum has again been disabled by the hosting company, which might be pleasing to say that I am changing after my current contract expires. Here are the two exchanges I had with them regarding the matter:
exchange 1:
Subject: site http access disabled!
Problem:
Wed Jan 1 02:05:58 2003:
the permissions on my siet on http://www.flash4arab.com has been changed so that no one is now allowed to access it. I would like to know why, and would like them enabled again.
Resolution:
Your site was disabled for bandwidth useage. Below is the exact message for the disable:
“flash4arab.com, web dir disabled, traffic at 23.251 gig pace, 12/31/02″
exchange 2:
Subject: site http access disabled!
Problem:
my site was disabled (database access) in the middle of the month because of *expected* exceeding of bandwidth towards the end of the month.. this i found most unexpected from a host as well ecognized as cihost. As a loyal customer i would expect an email of notice rathen than disabling my site - which at the time did not go over the limit YET.
I contacted cihost and they kindly put the database back on line. And I contacted them again (ticket number e10409730401.02) askign how I should pay for bandwidth usage on the form that they provided, and I was adviced to contact billing which i did, and recieved no reply from them.
Addittional to this, I have read my contact terms and terms of use on cihost and found that cihost promises not to disable any site that exceeds the bandwidth usage except after 7 days afterwards and only if the extra bandwidth was not paid for. I am truly dissapointed to see that on the 31st of the month, my account was disabled and cihost employess did not wait for the 7 days period a customer is
allowed to pay.
I am afraid that cihost dissapointed me lots in the past 30 days and my trust in this company is shaken, after three years of shared hosting and dedicated accounts with yourselves.
Please put my site back on line, and advice me of means to pay for the extra bandwidth (other than the bandwidth form URL because I have a problem with it which i thoroughly explained in my ticket e10409730401.02 )
Resolution:
Unfortunately only billing can put your site back online. You can go to http://payforoverages.com and pay for what you have gone over. I apologize for the problems that you have had in the past, and I understand your frustration, but understand that I do not have access to turn your site back on and only billing (the people that disabled the site) can turn it back on.

Alsalam, i advice you to change the host… they’r really below average i guess… they shouldnt deal with the matter this way….
