Someone In Trouble
For about six months now, there doesn’t pass a day without me receiving either a text message or an email from someone I supposidly know inviting me to join their mobile network. I even recieved one from my ex-boss, who is not the kind of person who’d send you an invitation to join a freeky-mobile-online-gadget-geeks thingie. These network are operated by www.sms.ac. They are trully annoying. Today I plugged their name into Google and was not at all surprised to find this investigation by the The San Diego Better Business Beureau:
..this company [sms.ac] is sending out emails through cell phones to them that indicate the messages are being sent from people they know. The messages are actually advertisements being sent from the company and are not personalized text messages. Consumers who register with this service are not told that an invitation to join the program is automatically being sent to all contacts on the consumers phone. Several complaints are currently pending…

ive always been intrested in reading ur entries on daily basis and then u just left.. beleive it or not i felt bad about that coz ur site was always one of the sites that i wud check out on daily basis,,and that message u rote wen u left the net,,, that sentence……wayed mo2athera,,,,,

This SMS thing annoys me so much. I used to receive text messages every 2 or 3 days which pissed me so much till I changed the options. They flooded my inbox with their invitations.
What they do I think is they send an invitation to everyone in your contact list once you sign up.

Blackpearlz, damn them, i hate their messages both in my email and on my phone. I must have recieved over a thousand messages from them already. Somehow, they get access to your MSN/Email list and just flood everyone with invitations. I really hope that investigation puts an end to their spamming.

OH God!!! Not sms.ac again!!!! I DESPISE THEM from the bottom of my heart! and i used to think pop up windows with adverts were annoying! this is worst than that…imagine ur pleasure when u see 2 new email messages and its spam ! lol happens to me all the time..anyhow im glad there are complaints filed towards them.. (lol @ a sms from ur ex boss can u imagine i received a message from one of my colleagues back in high school .. someone i havent talked to since 5 years!!! lol that was absolutely shocking)

I got into trouble becoz of them !! I signed up for their services o 2days later I received emails and phone calls from my friends and contacts asking me about the invitations !! It took me a while to figure it out. I ened up changing my phone number :P
How do they get access to customers contact list ?! Do they have a contract with Hotmail, Yahoo, etc ?!
