New Year 2007

Happy new year to all of you out there. I met my new year on the shores of AD new Cornish. The rationalist in me took opportunity to reflect on past experiences and the dreamer thought ahead. I looked back at 2006 as I passed it by and decided that on the whole it was a good year. It brought new lessons about myself and the world around me that will stay with me for the coming years. I was less nice to people, less caring about what others want/think and more focused on me. I did not shed any friends purposely as far as I remember but I did not invest as much time, effort and commitment as I should have in personal relations that mattered to me. I revived my interest in comparisons between Platonic, Spinozic and religious views of the cosmos. I strengthened some of my believes and shed few I was led to adopt by a traditional education system/up-bringing. I became a more mature doctor content with the fact that some people die no matter what you do them and yourself in the process. I am now better at leaving hospital problems in the hospital as soon as I leave. I also feel I started to have a happy balance between my professional life and my personal life.

My 2007 resolution:
———————-
- Do MRCP (Membership of the Royal College of Physicians) part 1.
- Do the Canadian entry exam.
- Finish the bloody TB audit.
- Publish a paper.
- Read all Richard Dawkins books.
- Read more about management in preparation for an MBA (which I will do in an other life maybe where I am not a doctor or medicine is not as demanding)
- Do more personality tests.
- Socialise more.
- Look after my business better.
- Do more photography.
- Actually USE my gym membership!
- Go sky diving.
- Cook a little bit more (I actually used to cook a lot till 18 months ago. Now all my kitchen ventures involve no more than accessing the microwave, and/or the takeout menus folder)

Happy New Year to you too, and congrats on your new template design..
The only two common new year resolution I have with you is
to publish a paper (which might be a little difficult now that I am preparing to my royal college exam) and go sky diving (easier once my exam is done).
Good luck in fulfilling your goal.

thanks for everyone who wished me a happy new year

robicon, yes indeed that is the guy. I am a person who likes to examin the other view point before dismissing it even when I am sure as hell of my own moral standing. We all hate cancer but we study it passionatly dont we? The God Delusion is an intimidating title that can put off alot of people. I have not read it yet but it certainly is on my list.

(…..) -> yeah I looked at those before writing my current resolution and decided not to address them in specefic itemiser manner. ;p
